IN IDLE MOMENTS. [Newspaper Article] — Southern Star — 5 September 1900

IN IDLE MOMENTS. [BY B0HSXI1K.] The matter of church-attendance— or rathor non*attendance — is worrying not a few of Bega's gigantio intellects. It is quit* refreshing to reflect that some subject other ? than the Gippa-Htrect Drain, or the Breelong Blacks, or the Tatbra Tramway is engaging public attention : bnt at ihn OUo.o ii,nn 'Bohemian1 cannot giasp why these fidgets should concern tkemselveo ubout other people's indifference as long as they belong to the up-to-date brand -l ohiietian themselves. If people are not inclined to attend church on Sun days of their own accord all the donkpjs in the United Kingdom wouldn't draw them there. Benides thi« is a free country, and religious toleration is the, pedestal npon which our fieedom should be built. But then the doRtnat. ist avers that he is not cavilling at other peoples' religion; he is only moralising over tho waut of aome ahow I of roBfiect for tho Omnipotent One Those who ore loud in '.hoir raillery against tho godlesfincsa o...
