MR. HOLMAN'S FOLLOWERS. PROTEET AGAINST PRESSURE. The New South Wales State Premier (Mr. Holman) made some caustic com ments on the utterances by the delegates at Thursday night's meeting of the Labor Councilin relation to the salaries of State school teachers. He said (according to the "Argus") : " We all ought to get higher wages. I am in favor of it. The whole Govern menb is in favor of it. I hive no doubt that the gentlemen of the deputation wbo waited upon the Minister for Education live in too detached a world to notice that there has been any financial .trouble in New South Wales during the last twelve months. But there has been. " Our friends who spoke last night at the council were apparently none of them aware of the· fact, or that it concerned them in any way; but in the Govern ment we have been made conscious of it' repeatedly. I have had occasion at various times to acknowledge with grati tude the remarkable good fortune this Government has enjoyed in its friends. It ma...

Many persons appear .most attractive at a distance, but produce a feeling'of pity and disgust when close to, beaeuse of the condition, of their breath. For in stance, it makes little diference how beautiful a woman may bhe, or how charming her manner, if her breath is foul; her charm is gone, and she is at a disadvantage whenever she comes in aontact with -other people. Foul breath in wonian arouses in man a feeling of repugnance and a desire to get out of the company of such a wo man as quickly as possible; and even women will avoid her. It is, there, tore, important for every woman who values her persofial attraction to take such care of herself 'that thi...
