WASHINGTON The Draft in Wasliiiieton—Our Correspondent Drafted—UuinorH ol" the Conscription— Sufferings of the Sccesh—The Contrnbumls. Correspondence of the Franklin Repository. \ Washington, D. C. Aug. 9. I'm. drafted, I am by "Hokce:" Well T ifally supposed a fellow would feel very bad if drafted, I can't say I do, yet I'm a little ^nervous."' ¦ However I console myself with, the reflection, that I'm no tetter than other ''mortals" * in a like predicament—who would not? Besides, 'I'm sure the thing Was done fair and honestly here. You recollect "old Burns" the blind man, who peddles vinegar, and catsup through the various Departments? Well the Provost Marshal se¬ lected him as a "drawer"' of the prizes from tie box—handirig them to Capt. Sheets, who •ling out the name of the "lucky individual." Those who you know, as well as I, tnat there runs not a drop of loval blood in their veins. Among these have tho names of tho. poor contraband, and free negro, and sojourners been mixed. Consequently the chances of these disloyal pers...
