Every farmer knows the value of manure. How few take the necessarv pains to save it. Planters' Journal. The attempts to cross the llerinos with the mutton breeds have not, as a rule, been a success be3ond the first cross, Cabbages are hungry feeders and leave the land somewhat impoverished, even after heavy manuring. A poor crop will not pay for the manure used. Never use whitewash in the stables or hen-houses, unless carbolic acid is added to it, as a single application of the mixture is better than two or three applications of whitewash alone.
