The Danbury & Korwalk Railroad is to be extended to Xew Milford, and the sur veys are being made and the work put through without delay. The miner rioters at Wilkesbarre have coolly asked the authorities to send the military out of the valley. Peacefully in i: n! in America never fear the l military. The New York Tribune says: "There is a great dl of congratulation going on in Republican circles over the work of the Ohio Convention. And yet, the malcon tents are not happy. Last vear the State ot Maine paid $2,- 745 for bears. As five .dollars was paid for u.h Wr. almost any one who has a moderate command of slate can ascertain that 549 bears were paid for.
