Official Visit to tlie West Coast MINISTERIAL. Under date January 27, the ' Mercury ' ' reports as follows : — Tbe Hon. A. T. Pillipger, Miniuter of LandB and Works, hrrived in town yester day afternoon after visiting Zeehan nnd Dundas. He expresses himself highly pleased .with the mineral prospects ol the district, and thinks that .there can be no doubt bat that the field will become a per manent one. He saw Mr Scbldpp, from Broken Hill, who expressed himself well pleased with the field. Asked as lo the progress of the. railway from Stmhan to Zochan, he slntcd that he found that the work was 'proceeding very slowly. After inspection and enquiry he resolved to inti mate to tlie contractors tlmt unless they satisfied him by the ltth of February that the Hue would bo completed by tiie 21ft June he would cancel the contract, and do tbe work through the Public Works De ptutment.
