Station bus waiting shed, for the con I venience of bus patrons. The time being late afternoon one day this week; the (srun sinking in the western sky, the I atmospheric conditions were very hot I and oppressive, the sun shiningt direct- ly in one's eyes, it was most uncomfort- able. , One seat only being provided for the accommodation of waiting passengers, the young, middle-aged, old and feeble, mothers with babies and expectant mothers, who were not all able to find vacant seating. One wonders why, in a district such as this, which apparently founded In 1826 A.D. or before, a taudh-Jbejtter waiting-shed for intending bus pas- sengers, with time tables Cor the var- ious but routes, are not provided. RED CROSS Liverpool Branch Two street stalls were held during December, one on "Red Cross Day" when the usual band of helpers were busy sell- ing badges, etc., to which our public readily responded, and the other, the regular monthly stall at which £9 was added to the funds by the sale of var- ious goods. Lucky ticket-holders were: Mrs. Malpi (elsy), Mrs. Bell (cake), Mrs. Geo. Rowe (box of sweets). Card afternoons returned the sum of £2/6/-. , The branch was in recess during January, but the sums of £1/12/- for sale of goods and £1/18/6 for card afternoons were collected. The most unusual pets shown were three white mice. T..e Pets' Parale was won by Miss Cle^ g s Fox Terrier, which, dressed in the latest fashion was proudly wheiled round the judging rin^, in a pram of ancient vintage. A weU'-groometi horse was awarded! the prize for the pet with the longest tail, and the pet with the nicest coat. Mrs. Sindel, of Fairfield, who had a Sydney Sllkle Terrier, collected the prize for the pet with the shortest tall.
