UNUSUAL THEFT At Nowra Several farmers in Nowra district recently reported that thieves had removed electric motors which can not be replaced. Police last week arrested three men and charged them with theft of no less than five motors, says the Nowra "News." SThe police responsible for the ar rests were Sen.' Constable Curtis, Berry, Sen. Constable E. W. Hut son, and- 1st Class Constable W. G. Hale, Nowra, Detective Constables Marsh and Marrot, of - Wollongong. SOn Saturday morning last, two of the men appeared before Mr. C. W. Owen, Chamber Magistrate, at Nowra Police Court, when Sen. Constable P. E. Russell, for the Police, told the Court that one of the defendants was alleged to have stolen three electiric motors, the property of Messrs. J. Muller, 'C. Abernethy and J. Callagan, of Meroo valued at -£10 each.' Defendant was remanded to ap pear at the Nowra Police Court on 22nd Jtily. Reid, The' Chairman reported that the annual Staff Ball of the Kiama Clothing Mill was,, an, outstanding success as a result .of which :£135 was received for the Maternity Wing at the Hospital. The success of the function was due to the donation of the expenses by the Management of the Mill and to the. co-operative work of the Ladies Auxiliary.
