Dreifus Presentation States Ideas on Women'sLiberation by Kathy Baker Staff Writer Claudia Dreifus appeared in the Reed Union Building lecture Hall on Tuesday, February 15, to speak to a large crowd of both male and female students about the Women's Liberation Movement. tt Mrs. Dreifus commented, "although American women are more emancipated than women in other countries, they still are Concerning criminal law, Claudia was very emphatic about how women are discriminated against one would think that a female would be given a lighter sentence in court, but this isn't true. Editorial Opinion Evaluation Needs Student Response Wonders never cease. It appears that the Behrend Campus is going to finally have some form of organized faculty evaluation. After several years of jury-rigged forms and unorganized procedures, the Student Government Association is going to run its own faculty evaluation at Behrend. While this should cause sighs of relief from all parts of the campus, the real problems are only starting. The main problems are the Behrend students. With the new evaluation, Behrend students are going to have to do some deep soul searching in order that everything will go as planned. A primary item for consideration is whether or not the Behrend students really want to conduct an honest faculty evaluation. A major reason for the failure of past evaluations was the limited student response. Apparently students did not deem evaluation worth their time and trouble; quite bluntly, students did not even take the effort to turn in evaluation sheets t...

Cub Five End Year at 13-7; Fail to Make CC Tourney by Tom Harvey Sports Reporter The Behrend Campus basketball team saw its championship hopes go down the drain last Wednesday when they traveled to Beaver and were defeated 91-71. The Cubs hosted Altoona on the Erie Hall boards on Saturday in the season's concluding contest and came out on top 108-91. Coach Roger Sweeting, in his first season back at the Behrend helm after a two year absence, led his Cubs to a 13-7 overall mark and an 8-2 conference record. Behrend invaded Beaver on Wednesday and came up with a cold shooting night and a hot shooting Stan Coleman for the Beavers. Coleman netted the Beavers first eight points of the contest. The big center ended the first half with 29 markers and led his team to a 54-47 halftime lead. The Cubs were close during the opening canto and got off to a 6-2 lead at the 18:40 mark. That was to be it for the Cubs as Coleman and company went to work. At the Cubs Close Season The Behrend...

Cub Grapplers Share Athlete of The Week by Dave Ruef Sports Editor For the second time this term, the duo of Julio DiMarco and Paul Jazenski have been chosen "Athletes of the Week". They share the honor because they emerged, as Commonwealth Campus wrestling champions in their division. Jazenski (177 lb division) registered 2 pins, and decisioned previously undefeated Moore of Shenango in overtime 4-2. PSU Student Norman Brown Speaks for Harrisburg Seven by Beckie LaPlante Staff Reporter Norman Brown will speak Wednesday, March 8 at 7 p.m. in the RUB Lecture Hall, on the trial of the Harrisburg Seven. Who are the Harrisburg Seven? Three of them are Roman Catholic priests; one is a nun who teaches art history. Still another is a gentle lucid Pakistani scholar, an authority on Third World nationalism. Finally, a couple: a former priest, son of a Congressman, and a former nun, a Fulbright scholar in French. They are Eqbal Ahmad, Father Philip Berrigan, Sister Elizabeth McAlister, Father Neil McLaughlin, Anthony and Mary Scoblick, and Father Joseph Wenderoth. Seven people who hate war. The Department of Justice has invested thousands of agent manhours in this case. It has been charged that they have coerced dozens of witnesses., made free and brazen use of wiretapping, manipulated a grand jury for a period of five full months. All this labor produced an enormously complex, sub...
