The following are the positions of the various Conferences ow represented at the General Conferenoe at Buffalo, on the question of alternation of the rule in re lation to Slavery. .The present discipline of the Church only .forbids' the "buying atid selling"' of. men, -women and children, vith the intention of. holding thvm slave. Under this rule a portion of the Church have claimed that the right to hold slaves is not inconsistent with the discipline.
