na nalbson'ille 1tlief. Three Dollars a Year. Louisiana and Plnchback. Senator West of Louisiana, has pthown himnelf more of a politician than he nad credlit for. After Senator Morton closed the debate on Monday in favor of the adnission of Pinuchback, Mr. West rose, and after regretting the division in the Republican party, said that he could not submit the claims of his colleague to a vote. liHe accordingly moved that the subject be laid on the table till the second Monday in December next. This took the Democrats by surprise, and Mr. Thurmanr protested. Mr. Logan also pbjected' to this disposition of the question, but a vote was taken, and tie ,itlestion' was postponed by a vote .r'eas against ~O nays. Mr. Chris tianiy voted nay with the Democrats, and so did Mr. Booth. General jogan did not vote.
