Oscar Turner, of Louisville, went down to Ballard county last Monday and voted for Tato. We all know what that means. The majority for Tate, the Demo cratic candidato for Treasurer, over Fox, Prohibitionist, will reach 30,000 or 40,000 in a light vote. Col. E. Polk Johnson, of tho Louis ville Times, is a caudidato for re election as clerk of tho Kentucky House of Representatives. Tho Governors of New York, Penn sylvania and several other slates have issued a proclamation declaring to-morrow Grant's funeral day a legal holidav. Tho President will leavo Washing ton to-day and aflcr the Grant funer al to-morrow will go to Albany and tho Adiroiidacks to tako a month's vacation. CHOLERA IN EUROPE. Still Raging in Spain and France. Ten men were suffocated in a coal mino at Wilkcsbarrc, Pa., Tuesday, by tho breaking of the fan that sup plied fresh air. About75 were in the mino but all escaped but ten. Keily who has been rejected by both tlu Italian and Austrian govern ments, as U. S. Minister, is to be pro vided for with a position in the De partment of Slate at Washington. The official vote from 101 counties out of 118 gives Tato 97,871 and Vox 33,727. The 17 counties vet to hear from will probably increaso Tate's vote to about 110,000. His majority will be over 05,000. The Henderson papers fail to men tion a meeting of the V. K. P.
