THE DAILY TMEgS. HKNKY BJEltlO, STTOM a"" paoratnou. orririAL papkh oir th oitt. tuimat.. The Future of Sectionalism. To all appernce, the contest for the Presi dency la 1860 is practically narrowed down to race between candidate locally North ern, and snpposed to represent ideas or In terests corresponding to the locality, and a candidate locally Southern, and supposed to represent ideas or Interests in like manner corresponding; 'with a preponderance of chances in favor of the former. The result Will probably be the success of the Northern candidate, elected exclusively by Northern electoral votes, as against the Southern can didate receiving only Southern electoral Totes. In any case, however, we seem des tined to bave what will, in respect to the ' circumstances of locality and political ac tion, bear the appearance of a sectional Presi dent who, to such as look no farther, will be euhject to that imputation. The sectionalism to be deprecated is not that which consists in the ac...
