The weather cut no ice. They heard of the sale and they came to it. Hundreds stood in line trying to get waited on. It was a big undertaking on our part to get ready for the first day, but we did it with plenty of work, nerve and muscle, all of which we have in plenty. The stars and stripes through out the house was one of the predominating features of the big sale, and it started off like chain lightning. The like was never seen before. They were surging to and fro throughout the store, picking up here and there bargains such as they had never seen in their lives before.
