SOCIETY SPIRIT RUNS HIGH Both Sides Back Their Speakers With Songs and Yells Thru- out Discussion. Tho Clios won unanimously over the Philos in tho Winter debate Wednesday evening March 15th. Clear logical think- ing force and earnestness on tho part of all four speakers made this one of the best debates ever heard here. W. A. Stevenson and E. W. Turner Philos had the affirmative side; J. C. Weir and B. L. Davis Clios the negative. The side supported by strong public opinion was tho negative which made the fight a hard one for the affirmative. But the affirmative as well as tho ncgativo presented strong argument on this ques tion: "Resolved That a cabinet form of Gov- ernment modeled after the British System shourtl be adopted by the United States."
