Goyernor Johnson of Minne- sota died on the night of the 21st inst. Cotton going at 13:60. That's getting along pretty well toward 15 cts. Not since the civil war has cot- ton reached the high price for which it is now selling. The cotton average is now con- ceded to be far below the esti- mate placed on it a few weeks ago, and the price is soaring. Some little oil excitement is prevelant around Moran, in Shackelford county. Two wells have been sunk and others are in contemplation.
