O'P-rieii's Eoselmnlt Dairy and EefriKeratiug AVorks wis ])orformed by Miss Phyllis Mason, daughter of Dr. Mason, of Tumut, on Wednesday. The weather was propitious, though the ground was damp. About 400 persons assembled at the works to witness the proceedings. The machinery was set in motion, and as many of those pre sent as the engme-room would hold stood round the engine, on . the . fly wheel of which, while in full motion, Miss Mason cracked a bottle of cham pagne, and christened the works. This accomplished, a retirement was made into' the- adjoining room, containing the machinery for butter-making. Eacli distinct machine was in its turn set in motion by the hand of Miss Mason, under the direction of the manager, ' Mr. Anderson, until the whole works were in foil opamtion. TUMBARUMBA NEWS. Tumbarujiba, Monday. The weather for the past week has been very inclement, raining pretty well all the week. The footballers played a scratch match on AVednesday, and a ball was held at night which was a successful affair. The ladies of the place gave the gentlemen a ball at the Victoria Hall on the same night. It was well, at tended, there being between 60 and 70 couples on the floor. The Budd Memorial' Fund. The adjourned meeting of the com mittee of tho Budd Memorial ' Fund, and also- of the committee of - the Adelodg Jockey Club in connection with the Budd Benefit race mooting, was hold at Tattorsall's (Perkins'.
