THE LATE MR. WM. MOODIE. THE FUNERAL. The funeral of the late Mr. Win. Moodie took place last Friday, the remains being interred in the Cole raine Cemetery. This was the first death iu tlie family, thus indicating that good constitutions were the lot of the parents and their twelve off spring. Service was held at Mona Vale, and continued at the graveside, by the Rev. John Alexander. The bearers of the remains, both at the residence and the cemetery, were old and close friends of the deceased, namely, Messrs. W. Heath, D. M'Ke- | bery, Joseph Riddoch, T. Carmichael, | J. /{Et'ERENCES AT THE COURT. At the Co)er,line Police Court ou Pi'iday sympathetic references were to the death of Mr. William " Mooilio, .I.P. Mr. Gardiner, J.P., said that he would like, before the closing of the court, to pay his tribute to his late brother magistrate, Mr. Moodie, who had been the third senior magistrate on the list. During the time lie (Mr. Gardiner) had known him he had always found him to be genial and courteous and obliging, and in his public position had a grasp of his duties and was well fitted to carry them out. Mr. M'Kebery, J.P., endorsed the remarks of Mr. Gardiner. He had known Mr. Moodie for very many years, and remembered when he was first appointed a justice of the peace, with which he had had a little to do.
