Henderson (General Secretary of the   Returned Sailors' and Soldiers' Imperial League of Australia):—"I   duly received your letter of the 21st instant, covering copy of appreciated report from the survey party. I am very pleased to hear how satisfied the men are with their conditions of life,   and think the scheme a magnificent one. I shall be glad to hear from you from time to time, if there is anything that you would like the League to do to assist you in your good work."

Kelley, formerly of Cobden     and Macarthur, has been killed in       action in France. He left Australia with the A.I.F. about nineteen months     ago. Corporal E L. Ford. Mr.and Mrs. S. Ford, of Cobden,   have received the painful news that their fifth son, Corporal Ernest Leslie   Ford, had been officially reported killed     in action on October 5, after one year     and nine months service. Corporal Ford was a brother of Mr. Ford, of the     South Purrumbete creamery. Deep       sympathy is expressed for the parents   and other members of the family in           their sad bereavement.
