Ho thought the straightening out of the Beach road would give an additional area to the triansular reserve, but would prefer to see an altogether new ground purchased. Messrs. Farm and Garden Calendar. April.' The Flower Garden: Finish sowing hardy annuals. Com. monce to plant the hardier shrubs and other plants in pots. Evergreens may be transplanted as soon as the ground is sufficiently moist. Take oil the layers of carnations as soon as they are sufficiently rooted, and plant them in their permanent situations. Put in cuttings in roses. Sow grass seeds on laiwn. Plant daffodils and narcissi, tulips, snowdrops, ixias. Plant bulbs as deep as the diameter of the bulbs. Take up glad;di and other bulbs' finished flowerug, and store in boxa, packed in dry sand. Renovate edg ings of thrift, box and thyme. Poly anthus, violets, etc., should be divi-' ded if needful. The general favourite, tile freesia, should be planted. For edgings for borders or beds, or even for planting in masses, it iskunsurpassed by any spring flowering bulb.
