MONDAY, JANUARY 8, 1923. ROSLYN-TARALGA RAILWAY To-dny is full of significance for the Taralga town and district. The Premier, with the Minister for Works, will perform the cere mony of turning the first sod on the Roslyn - Taralga railway. Thus will be Btarted a work for which tthe Tarnlga residents have agitated, more or less consistently, for -fifty years. There is little doubt but that the line would have been in work some years, had it not been for udverse criticism of the route suggested. How ever, the people have decided thai they want a railway, whether it is in the right place or not; they have left the choice of the route to the departmental officers, and will accept the result. The tre mendous disadvantages under which they have and arc working, because of lack of railway facilities, have convinced them that al most any old railway is better than none, and that in these days long distance from such transport is a disability under which no dis trict can successfully labor....
