BLACKALL MCKIOIPAUTF.-An advertise meet elsewhere shows that the first steps to wards incorporating Blackoll have already been taken. Unless a counter petition signed by a greater number of householders iB presented to the Governor within three months, the town will be proclaimed a municipality. PRESENTATION.-We presume no one was more surprised than Mr. Honahan himself when he was waited upon at his private resi dence and asked to join in a festive gather ing at the hour of 10 p.m. on Tuesday even ing last. General Bright reports that he has completely dispersed the forces of Mohammed Ali at Bughan, in the vicinity of Jellababad, with considerable loss to the enemy. The Government intend to adhere to the treaty of Gundatnak, and will avoid annexation while holding certain strate gical positions in Afghanistan. Serious riots have occurred at Pceth. Several persons were killed and wounded. The post of Military Governor Qf Cabul has been abolished, and General Roberts has appointed Wali Mahomed to administer the affairs of the city. The case against the bush ranger is postponed until Monday. [Our Brisbane correspondent sends similar particulars, but states that Mr. Murphy was assisting the manager to defend the bank when he received a bul let in his shoulder. £170 was the whole amount taken.]

It was reported in town on Thursday that the Btrathleven had arrived in London, and that the meat had been satis factorily tested. Up to last night we had received no news to that effect. As the vessel was at Sues on the 14th it is probable hjwever that she has now arrived at her destination, and we may expect a telegram containing the news at any moment. Bbibbaxe.-SoottfeMacgregorreport under date 8th Januaiy, 1880:-Only 68 head of cattle were yarded this week, which we sold at fair rates, viz.: the Belle vue bullocks at i from £817/6 to £6 6/-, average £110/8, and j cows at £8 8/6 to £310/-.
