&»«£*« W. EDITOR. Thursday1, Sep. 8, 1870. REPUBLICA N TICKET, For Member of Congress—Id Die Met, GEN. JOHN T. AVERILL. E KJEPUBXICAN CANDIDATE AND PLATFORM. The Republican District Convention only fulfilkd the public expectation when it placed io nomination for Con gress, Qen. Joba T. Averffl, of St.Summer Paul. The general choice of the peo ple had been, for some time, steadily gathering sod centering on him as the proper man for their standard bearer in the coming campaign. The unanimity of the nomination—the .ordinary for mality of a ballot being dispensed with —shows how thorough this sentiment had prevailed throughout the District, and how faithfully the delegates gave expression to the wishes of those who sent them. This testimonial of confidence and esteem at the hands of the Republican party of this State is well deserved by Gen. A refill. He has on several occa sions sacrificed his personal interests when such saciifioe was deemed es sential to the welfare and the harm...
