Yaquina Notes. "Sauce for the Goose, Sauce for the Gander." What is next, tell me quick! I would like to know. It seems an impossibility for some of the Ya quinaites to take a joke. Life with them is a serious thing. The money question worries them considerable. They have my entire sympathy in their hour of trouble. The parties who had the most to say in regard to those "Yaquina Notes" were not mentioned individually (I will not say collectively.) so if I did joke a little it was no skin off their "shins." My friend is a trifle mistaken when he calls me a "sport." I might be called anything but "sporty," in fact I am a gentleman, and am living here solely for my health. I believe in heaven after death, am an American by birth and education. So his statements in regards to my being a heathen are a trifle misleading, to say the least. My eyes may be almond shaped and my face yellow, but it takes more than that to constitute a heathen. Perhaps he meant a "Hottentot" or "a Wild Man from...
