With ,one State (Colorado) esti mated, the popular plurality for Mr. Cleveland over Gen. Harrison in the Union is 98,204. In 1884, by the Tribune's figures, his plurality was finiy -23,005. In the Northern States Harrison's vote is 4,074,903 and Cleveland's vpte is 3,605,746. Hence the re publican vote in the North is 469, 157 larger than the Democratic vote in a total of 7,680,649. In the Southern States Cleve land's vote is 1,920,757 and Harri son's 1,353.396. The Democratic vote in the South is therefore 567, ,361 largerithan , the Republican vote in a total of 3,274,153. The closeness of the vote in some ,of the Southern States indicates a .probable change in the future, es pecially .now that the Republicans are fortified with Federal patron age. -Florida is more strongly Dem ocratic than formerly, the Demo cratic majority being 12,902 this year, against only 3,7...

Grierson, in a late re port, recommended an enlargement ,of the Navajo Indian reservation. The General was probably not aware that that reservation already con tains 5,468,160 acres, or 8,544 square miles, ftnd tjiat. accordiug to the agent's report, there arc but 18,000 Navajos all told, of whom a per Q2flge is reported by a former agent, "as living from 150 to 300 miles west of the agency"' This tribe is chiefly devoted to pastoral pursuits, and there are but few acres of their present tract but what tcan be utilized. They own fully 1,200,000 sheep and goats. They ,sell such of their wool as they them selves do not weave into blankets.
