THE CYCLONE. ro are informed Hint it is very likely that we will have other vessels coming Into this port in distress ow ing to the late cyclone. It seems to have swept over a large section of the ocean, and many vessels were in its track. Competent judges, how ever, think that the last steamer from here to San Francisco, which sailed on the 25th, would not in any likelihood encounter any portion of it. Conversing with one of our best authorities on these matters, we were informed that these cyclones arc probably caused 03 the rarifica tion of the air over the American desert.
