Cover returned Monday from a week's stay in Trinidad Col. I' M. Salyers has recently finished two tenant residences on the north side. J. M. Hedgecoke of Endee and his two daughters were in the city last Wednesday. M. V. Stonnant announces the arrival of a fine nine-pound baby girl at his home. Benito Baca left Tuesday for Alamogordo and intermediate points on business. A full line of Studebaker Bug gies, Roadwagons and Surreys at M. B. Goldenberg's. CINNAMON BEAR MAKES ESCAPE Population of Alamorfordo Has & Chase After Bear Presented to Park by Judge Mann. Alamogordo, N. M., Nov. 3. Mann's big cinnamon hoar, captu red by that jurist and a party of friends in the wilds of Lincoln county and presented to Alamogor do in perpetuity, got out of the park where it is kept, the other day, and there was immediately something doing. The bear has been kept in a cage on the little island in the park, where it has been one of the sights of the town. In some way the bear got loose and, plunging into the lake, swam across to the mainland, immediately thereafter, taking a fast hike to a big pile of telegraph poles across the track, into the recesses of which Bruin retreated, growling. About three hundred people turned out to see the bear recaptured. Alvey, the president of this company, has been sick for several days. J. C. Hawkins of the Montoya Republican was in the city Tues day on business. Donald Stewart spent the first of the week in Las Vegas looking after business matters there. J. W. Callahan, formerly em ployed by the Eagle Cornice Works as bookkeeper, was admitted to the bur Tuesday. The Majestic, a new theatre, lo cated on the corner of Second and Center streets, opened for busi ness Monday night. C. H.
