Ahern and others said that eventually they want a network that can “talk to each other,” meaning whoever is monitoring can bring up any camera from around the county from which to deploy resources. “We’re hoping to get our security cameras tied in to the SDPD,” Coakley said.“ The city would like to have them eventually throughout the city of San Diego.” “If a tsunami or wildfire occurs, then public safety officials can pull up all the cameras operating in the city, even at a water treatment facility or a camera in a [ scrap] yard,” Ahern said. The SDPD could expand the program citywide, monitoring citizens from their front doors as they move throughout the city. Despite a cease and desist order from City Attorney Mike Aguirre instructing smoke shops to remove all drug paraphernalia from their stores, items associated with marijuana are still on the shelves, Silverman said. to drive the city’s smoke shops out of business, said Lisa Silverman of the North City Prevention Coalition and Social Advocates for Youth ( SAY). Kolaras was fined $ 1,054 by San Diego Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sontag, who set a restitution hearing for April 29 to see if Kolaras should be ordered to pay $ 109,892 in medical expenses for the seriously injured worker. A former sailor who attacked San Diego Gas & Electric workers while they were trying to restore electricity in Mission Beach was sentenced Friday, Feb. 28, to 180 days in a work furlough program. Sontag allowed Kolaras to remain free on $ 100,000 bond until his report date on March 17. She allowed him to leave the county and travel to Chicago for his grandfather’s funeral.
