A Word or Two for the Council. [Newspaper Article] — Sacramento Transcript — 4 June 1850

A Word or Two for the Council. We expected before this time to see some ordinance relative to the proper disposition of the gun powder that is now scattered in smaller or larger quantities, throughout the City. This subject is of far more importance than appears upon its face. LOOK HERE— LOOK HERE. City of St. Louis , on the east- bank of Feather River. THE proprietor of this City takes pleasure in informing the citizens of California, that a correct map has been drawn, and can be seen at my house on the ground ; also, at G. B. Stephens & Co., corner J and Front street, Sacramento City, and R. M. i'oltz, at Jenkins & Co., Marysville, who are my authorized agents in selling lots. In presenting this location for a city, the proprietor can with confidence state, that it is decidedly one of the very best locations on Feather river, and two miles above Veazie City; and steamboats will be able to run to this point as long- as to any other point on the river. I deem it unnecessary to say more in' reference to this most delightful situation, for all who have seen the location are fully convinced that it possesses decided advantages over any other point. C.
