SENIOR SPECIAL EDITi 4 The Chattfer Box LAMAR FLY VOLUME XVII The Merry-go- Round An uninformed visitor to our cam- pus during the currant week might very easily receive the impression that the Denton Teachers College is quite as swanky as Vassar or Prince- ton. The latest spring styles are to be seen at every turn, and the very- much-in-evidence canes lend just that delicate touch that marks the sophis- ticated cosmopolitan. WE know, of course, that it's only our seniors, who, according to one sarcastically waggish freshman, have been anticipating for so long the pri- vileges of "kings for a week" that they have grown old and decrepit and must needs enlist the aid of walking- sticks in their daily perambulations. Be that as it may, the last-year stu- dents have conclusively demonstrated during the past three days that they have not sunk so deeply in the feeble- ness of dotage as to have lost their affinity for dancing and bridge. Each succeeding morning, upon reaching the edge of t...

THE TELESCOPE Joe Gug«nheim r t In t|§ **Ma*dnr for the Christ- ian Vtir," Sunday is known m Pass- ion Sunday, so-called because of the proximity of the suffering and cruc- ifixion of HiI Christ. It was during the latter days of our Lord's life on earth, prior to his death, that Ho gathered the chosen Twelve more ctosoly about Him to teach them what and how to carry on His work when He should no longer he with them. Then there comes in Holy Weak Jesus' death and burial, terminating with His glorious resurrection on Easter Day, rightly called tha "Queen of Festivals." At the last few meetings of the St. Barnabas Club there has been held a series of discussions on "Comparative Religions." Sunday evening at six- thirty, Miss Ilione Baldwin, student secretary, will speak to the club on 'Oriental Religions," taking more specifically on Confucianism and Bud- dhism. Not long ago we heard this statement made: "The only religions that have had any lasting qualities about them have been born ...
