B Sqn. 8-13th V.M.R. As notified in training parade cards the annual camp of con tinuous training for 2nd Arm ored Brigade will be held at Puckapunyal from 11th March to 25th March. Attendance is com pulsory for all ranks, but leave of absence may be granted if cir cumstances necessitate. Applications for leave of ab sence must reach the sdb-unit H.Q., not later than 28th Feb. The names of members not hav ing been granted leave will be submitted to Brigade H.Q. stating that such-members will definitely be attending camp. ALEXANDRA SHIRE COUNCIL FROM THE FEFB_:}RUARY MEETING. When a letter was received at the last council meeting regarding work needed on the footpath in front of the Alexandra school, Cr. Briggs said there had been money spent on use less jobs. He would like to see this work done, and the street made nice. -He was supported by the President, Crs. Edwards and Weeks. Money has to be obtained for this work. Cr. Jones said the council was led astray when the matter of widening, Coster street was being dealt with some time ago, regarding finance, and averred that it would be nice if it was bitumenised. He could not see why I country residents should contribute I towards sealing town streets, except main street. Many streets in the township were never used by 'coun try residents. He was of opinion that a special rate should be loved and paid by people requiring the sealing of streets. Cr. Jones said that if the bitumenising of Coster street was ad hered to, other requests would be re ceived...

Found Shot Dead. Mr. George Petersen, 20, of Eildon Weir, was found shot dead half a mile from his home on Sunay morning last. He -had left home on a shooting expedi tion at 10 a.m. on Saturday. A search party, led by First Con stable Koop, of Alexannra, found the body with a gunshot wound in the head. A single-barrelled shotgun was found between the legs. There were no suspicious circumstances. Floral tributes were received, and a large number of relatives and friends gathered to pay their last, respects to a young and popular member of the Eildon Weir community. After a service at the St. John's Church of England the funeral moved off to the Alexandra'ceme tery where the casket was borne to its last resting place by mem bers of the Eildon Weir Cricket Club, namely Messrs E. Burness, R. Donald, J. Sawers, H. Sawers. K. Sawers, and W. Moore, whilst the pall bearers were Messrs. G. V. Sawers, A. Shoesmith, G. McKay. P. Richardson, R. Robb and A. Pearson. Rev. S. Wedflng. The marriage was celebrated at St. John's Church, Corowa, on January 7, of Peggy June, daughter of Mrs. M. Stevens, Frederick street Wah gunyah, and William Graham, son of Mrs. S. T. Cumming, 26 Bent street, IEat Malvern, formerly of Gobur. The bride wore lace over satin, with tight fitting bodice and full skirt fall ing into a long train, finished with lace. Her embroidered veil was held by a coronet of orange blossom, and her bouquet was composed of frangi pani, tuberoses, lily of the valley and white gladioli. Attending her sister, Miss Iris Ste vens wore blue silk embroidered net over blue taffeta, with a three-tiered skirt and a tight fitting bodice with square neckline trimmed with frilled, embroidered net and tiny puff sleeves.
