NAPROW ESCAPE OF THE LYNZCH SELLENfGE1RS ArM, the mImenhrs of the Lynch Family of I"ellhingors had a narrow escape of ]osing their lives (says a telegram to the " \Welling ton Ev?oning Post," dated Reefton, Novoem. ber 5). They were returning from Caplus ton to Reefton after a performance they had given thero, and when orossing the Inanga hun River, which had risen very rapidly through the heavy rain, the driver of the coach was unable to keep the usual crossing, and tile coach and horses were swept downl the river. A large bolnider stopped the coach, and with greai t difficulty the horses wvre loosened. The Betlringers remained on top of tihe coaoh frolm midnight until 4, o'cloclk in thu morning, when the river fell nearly a foot, and assistance was reondered. Creat praise is due to the drivor, UGeorge Hlanes, and a man named Wolfe, for their courage, ous conoduot.
