Bega District Hospital. A meeting of the Committee was held on Wednesday, the president, Mr. H. M. Blomfield in the chair. There were also present Messrs. T. Atkinson, Jas. Cochrano, Jas. Rixon, J. J. Ritchie, J. T. Rogers, H. Underbill. P. Frasor. T. J. Bate man, J. M. Lee, H. Jardine. Messrs. Stiles and A. F. Ritchie sent apologies for non-attendance. . Minutes of previous meeting read and confirmed. The receipts since last meeting, including subsidy, amounted to £330 12s Gd, expenditure £55 Us 3d. Balance to credit of current account .£330 17s 7d. The House Committee had made sundry visits to the hospital and reported everything as satisfactory. The Committee recommended the payment, of accounts aggregating ,£?52 9s 9d. The report was adopted. The medical report showed that on the 8th Nov. tUercwwcrc' 8 male and 4 female patients in residence and 15 patients were since ad mitted. CRICKET. On Wednesday afternoon St. John's Institute and ? Tathra Road teams played a match on the hitter's wicket, St. John's winning by 4 wiekets nnd 19 runs. For Tnthra JKoail U. island wits top-scorer with 3(5, of which only half a dozen were singles. He hit 22 in couplvs and two fourers. B. Bland, with 19, was the only other player to reach double figures. The analysis of the St. John's bowlers was not kept and it is a pity the club could not secure an enthusiast as scorer for the season. For tho Institute the consistent Rogers made 18, while Brixy and Cruicksliank re'irud with 42 and 30 respectively. Dur ing the innings Brixy was bowled by Ward, but the bowler experi enced the acme of bad luck when the bails refused to fall. Brew, of the Goldlields Hotel, Wolumla, was run off on Wediies- ? day night on the grounds- at tho rear of the hotel, and attracted lout 200 llnnnln im-lti/liiirr vuwL from Bega, Candelo and Pambula, the meeting being in every way a success. Mr. Brew looked after. the requirements of runners and tl.e public generally at the hotel, while on the ground he had the assistance of many willing hands. Mr. J. Porter was starter and got his fields away well. Messrs. H. Rix and J. Cochrane acted as judges. Out of 175 nominations, 50 runners accepted. Of the latter all com peted except Loyd (5th heat) J. and A. Ward (6th heat) and Suttlu, (12th heat.) The tracks were in good order and much' bettor than many runners anticipated.
