Letters to Soldiers. NEW FORM OF ADDRESS. [Newspaper Article] — Cobden Times — 30 October 1918

Letters to Soldiers. NEW FORM OF ADPRl-SS. It is' desired by the military authorities abroad that tho word " Australia'" be included in everything addressed to any of the unit#, hence the necessity for including the words '• Australian Imperial Force," instead of » A.l.F." Confusion is being caused by the Australian correspondents using the letters "A.F.A." instead of writing the words " Aiii-iralian Field Artillery" in full in the addresses on Setters and parcels intended for members of that unit. The " Army Field Aitillery," a British unit, uses the s line initials. Instructions have been i-sued that correspondence is to be ad-ressed to " Australian" Field Artillery. In the ease of infantry the distinguishing letter of the Company to which the soldier is attached should be shown thus :— No. 1-23 I. Private Thomas Atkins, " J3"Company. i'l 4 I i.fm:ry Battalion, Australian Imperial Force, Abroad. In Light Horse regiments tlie squadron .should be indicated in the same way, as follow...
