By the mid-day train that day Mr. Trow, the overseor of works, ar rived in Bowral from l'arramatta, and was expected by tho workmen to have brought with him a sum of 11101103' to ■ pay them their wages. On arriving at tho building about two o'clock Mr. Trow told tho men that I10 had not brought any money with him, but that the architect was expected in town by tho evening's train. Mr. Trew occupies one of the rooms at tho building into which ho outered, and shortly afterwards locked the door and wont to sco Mr.Bennott, the rail way station-master. On returning an hour later lie found that the door of his room had been forced open, evidently by somo one who suspected there was niouoy in tho room.
