Going to Extremes. [Newspaper Article] — The Sydney Wool and Stock Journal — 17 February 1899

' ,/>$ Going to Extremes, Our two morning contemporaries have had soma dillloulty of lute over a vory simple! word, which Hounds worse than it means. At the same time thoro was noticed for our junior con* temporary to ubo strong language and apeak about "damning" the Wollondilly, aB it did fuw days ago. Apparently, with a view avoiding a Himilar error, our elderly and more oircumHpeat aontemporary speaks about the "darning" of the Nilo. This savours bf all'ectation, unless thu word intended to bo used < was " naming," and tho porson responsible had a cold in hiH head, but in such a case he. would have written " Tho Darning of tho Dile." It is almost unnecessary to mention that the word intended to be used^waa " damming," and, for tho information o'f both papers, in spoil as now printed.
