PICKINC TEETH A COOD HABIT. Etiquette frowns upon the uise of toothpicks at the (lining table, but modern dental scicnce seeks to en courage the habit. According to Pro fessor Levett, one of the most eminent French dental surgeons, the tooth pick should be as much a part of the setting of the table as the knives, forks, and plates; and if the meal is a protracted one, the toothpick should be used before rising from the tabic. It is a fact that, notwithstanding the acknowledged skill and pronounc ed advancement in the science of dentistry, we still lose our teeth far too soon. This is either through pyorrhea, that dread disease of the gums which causes seemingly perfect strong white teeth to detach themselves and fall out, or through lack of cleanli ness upon the part of tfy> individual. To clean the teetli with a brush up on risipjy and before retiring is not enough. The various mouth-wash dis infectants and the use of dental floss in themselves cannot be relied upon.
