Shipments, 102 cattle and 20 horses. Drive outs, 50 cattle. The cat tle market was active to the extent of the supply, and prices ruled a little stronger. The receipts were composed of butchers' grades in steers, cows and heifers and about 50 head of good na tive feeding steers, which were sold to Missouri parties. The close was firm. There was no hog market owing to the fact that the packers were not buying, on account of the high water. Kansas City market closed 7 1-2 and 10 cents higher than yesterday's close. Receipts of Live Stock at the Union Stock "Yards for 34 hours 360 cattle, 815 iogs, and for the week just closed, 1,779 cattle and 8,783 hogs. A gain of 249 cattle and 1,529 hogs over last week. The cattle receipts today -were composed mostly of Texas cattle "which arrived too late for the market and will be held over. Very few cattle about 60 head changed hands today. The market was steady to strong, and more good cattle would have sold at firm prices. Hogs were in good sup ply for closing day. The packers could not get things in readiness for start ing up today, consequently only a few hogs changed hands. It is quite probable they will start up Monday, although it is not very certain.
