TILE TUCOMCAIU NEWS TUCUMCARI NEW MEXICO. Summer Accidents. , If it were possible to make a com plete list of all tho casualties of n whole vacation season say from the 1st of July to the 1st of October the showing would be so alarming as to shock careful parents and to call into existence a host of reform societies. Tho fact that summer accidents are re ported as they occur, singly and in widely separated places, accounts in large measure for the slight and transi tory impression they make on the pub lic mind. Tho old meaning of the word accident, as something that "Just happens," and could not have been prevented, still clings to It. The purpose of this article Is to change their minds. Accidents do not "just happen," nor Is anyone Justified In calling them "dis pensations of Providence,' ' planned and ...

AT ONE OF HARMONY THROUGHOUT JOINT STATEHOOD IS ENDORSED The Territorial Delegate Con vention held at Las Vegas last Saturday the 29th ult., was one of the most enthusiastic and at the same time the most harmonious ever held in the Territory. , J DELEGATE ANDREWS. (Continued from page One.) its rudder, not only the greatest republican, but the greatest Amer ican of today, but the greatest fig ure in the world's history of the present time, Theodore Roosevelt What of my telling you of t h deeds of this great leader of t h nation that have stirred not only Europe, but also the Orient. Be it as peacemaker among nations as a protector among American republics; as a builder of oceanic canals; as a trust buster or as constructive statesman, he has no peer among living men and time is writing his achievements large up on the pages of history. As a tri ed and true friend of New Mexico, as a man especially near and dear to us, we who knew him before be fore the highest honors came to him, we all respect him and most of us, yea, I hope all of us, love him. It is true, he has been misrep resented even by this territory, but what man in public life is not? Let me tell you from my limited knowledge that there 'is no man in the nation...
