A bill has passed both houses of the Nevada legislature, placing 10,000 in the governor's hands to afford relief of the sufferers by the fire at Reno. W. T. "Westhall, a well known neck-tie manufacturer, in attempt in" to get on a car of the Market street line, San Francisco, on Mon day fell under the wheels which passed over both legs, cutting them off above the knees. His injuries are probabljr fatal. Rountree & McClure, San Francisco, grocers, have ordered their agent at Reno to supply the wants of sufferers by the fire to the extent of his ability. ASTORIA FIRE DEPARTMENT. i Pari lie Coast Dispatches. Cattle are reported dying in the interior of British Columbia where a thaw has set in. The losses at Reno by the fire will not fall short of one million dollars. Insurance 250,000. Troy Dye, who procured the murder of Tullis last summer, in order that he might obtain the fees that would come to him as public administiator, will be hanged at Sacramento on Thursday of next week (loth.) His accomplice Ed ward Anderson, will be hanged with him. River, March 4, 1879. f We left the dock at 4:15 this morning, but as way business had increased so much on the river it is doubtful if we will be able to make connection with the Puget Sound route even from Carroll's point below Kalama. From Asto ria to Tounge point five landings "wore made, and a man overboard at the Fisherman's landing added to the detention. He came out a wetter and more sober man from Ks involuntary bath. The Hay ward is one of the finest as well as the fleetest vessels in the line, and like all other steamers belonging to the Oregon Steam Navigation company, is about per fection. In speaking of the closiijg hours of the house, Washington dispatches state that notwith tanding the partisan feeling which possessed both sides of the house during the night session, there was remarkable absence of per sonal passion.
