According to assessors' reports the population of Leavenworth is 21,699. The Santa Fe railroad company lias bought the Harvey hotel at Florence. The business section of Carbondale was burned on May 12. The cause of the fire is unknown. The late heavy rain tookouta bridge at Onaga, and a train from Leaven worth was tied up. No one was hurt. Fortj' people of Dickinson county left in a special car to attend the an nual Dunkard conference in Pennsyl vania. Carrie Nation has just been jailed for 30 days and fined $100 for her con duct in one case in February, 1901, in Topeka.
