Come, be mine—if age deprive thee Of thy charms, I'll love thee still; Thy deeds of love shall long survive thee; Come, take me then for good or ill. TER CONTRA. Silly maiden, wilt thou listen, While these flattering vows he breathes ? And tears of love in thy eyes glisten, Round thy young heart a net he weaves. He'll take thee to his pictured dwelling, Where, subject to his lordly will, To no fond friend thy anguish telling, Thoul'tbc his slave for good or ill. llow I Told my Love. Oh, the glories of a sleigh ride in the sparkling, bracing-air of a Canadian winter! The sky clear and exhilarating—keenly bright, but with a different degree of lucidity from that of a bright s...

We are informed that the steamer Visalia was to start from Stockton on Thursday morning last, and was expected to be at Fresno City to-day. A Cotillon Party will be given at Tule River, on the 3rd April next. It is a pleasant ride across the prarie at this'season of the year, and those fond of the dance may be assured that the gentlemanly proprietors of this house will leave nothing undone to render their guests comfortable, and make the party the most pleasant of the season. A Tulare Picnic. [Newspaper Article] — Visalia Weekly Delta — 24 March 1860
A Tulare Picnic. As children are more oft taught their alphabet by gaudily painted primers, and cunning little blocks of wood, than by the old fashioned custom of teaching the ABC, so, on Wednesday last, were the denizens of Visalia and the vicinity, practically given the definition and furnished with a beautiful illustration of the meaning of the word "picnic." Now, be it known, that at the present time, Tulare valley, more especially the fast, enterprising, and fun-lov-ing village of Visalia, is not the Anticosti of California civilization, which some of our San Joaquin neighbors would fain have the State believe; one thing, however, is certain, that henceforth, hereafter, and fo...
