Physical Fitness Classes Now Being Held On Wednesday In line with the national program for maintaining citizen morale the women’s classes at the Verdugo Playground is stressing their “physical fitness” classes for women. In the gymnasium on Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. exercises are given to strengthen the body and relax nervous tension. Bi-monthly walks are offered to those who enjoy swinging along the roads (swell preparation for these tireless days to come). And a tennis class is being organized for the spring. Women who are interested are asked to call CL. 69383 for further information, or just come and join our Wednesday morning class.

Our local team, the Mystery Nine will meet the Downey Athletic Club, winner of the North East league at 2 p.m. The Dowey team has a record of 9 wins and 1 loss, the Mystery Nine 12 wins and 1 loss. This final playoff will consist of seven winning teams from seven district leagues meeting to play for the final championship. The games promise to be fast and tight —the sort to delight a baseball fan. The games are free and till are welcome.
