A Young Mexican Woman Fatally Stabbed Last Tuesday evening the citi zens who reside near the Santa Fe depot were startled by the cry of a young Mexican woman being stabbed on further inves tigation it was learned that young Mexican coward had stabed a young defenseless mar ried woman who had been work ing at a wash tub when this cowardly Mexican cur stepped from the rear ad thrust a knife or some other sharp instrument into her left side with killing ef feet as the woman died Wednes day morning about 10 o'clock Thus a young life was snuffed out by a crazy rejected lover She had been married only afew months and lived in Canyon only a few days therefore were strangers she leaves a husband to mourn her loss. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. M. Only th Brute' Head Showed Above the Water and the Well Placed Bul- let Fired From an Elephant Entered the Nestril and Broke Hi Neck. An interesting account of a tiger bunt is given by one who bad a wide experience in hunting this most dan- gerous of beasts. Mounted upon ele- phants the writer and bis companions bad been beating the jungle without making a find until as they were about to give up the search a sudden disturbance among the elephants ap- peared to betoken a tiger near at band. Giving directions to the others as to the order of marching their ele- phants the writer ordered his ma- hout to turn into the thick feathered foliage to the left in search of a pool of water which be remembered to be there. Our Best Agricultural ; Authorities are now unanimous in advocating the marketing of "finished products" from the farm in the shape of live-stock which has been fed on the harvests of the land and which policy is one of continual conservation giving back to the soil much of that which was taken away. The large stock-feeder can go on the market and purchase stock for the feed-lot (paying a profit to the stock-raiseri and also buy grain for the fattening and finishing for mar- ket (paying a pront to the producer and still have a margin on his own investment. The Panhandle is an ideal location in which the farmer can reap both the profits above mentioned. Tests conducted at our tate Experiment Station conclusively show that the feeding value of kaffir corn and milo maize i equal to that of Indian corn heretofore conceded first place as a stock-finishing food.
