Gevers St., was stabbed six times about the body with a pocket knife by Aquila Sance, who lives at 409 S. Ge- vers St., Thursday, July 6. Fentress was rushed to the Robt. B. Green Hospital by ambulance and was reported in a serious condition. Later compli- cations set in and the victim died Sunday as a result of his alterca- tion with Sance. Young, whom til sports readers know as Fay, formerly of the Chicago Defender and now Sports Editor of the Kan- sas City Call. Fay is the greatest Colored authority on sports and one of the greatest authorities in these United States. Fay inform- ed us the East Tech relay team that made such a great record In the National I nterscholastics were all Color- ed and the Wich- ita team that won the finals was composed of three colored boys and one white boy. Thanks very much, Fay. For the benefit of the readers of this column, Fay and your humble servant have worked as officials in many fast ball games. We began working games together in 1027. SAN ANTONIO REC.ISTE 1 PAGE SEVEN Robstown News Monday evening at 4 o'clock the Star of Zlon Light band met with the director, Sister Lily Mac Banks There waa a joint rehearsal Wed- nesday with the Jr. and Sr. Choirs. Thursday afternoon the weekly aewing circle met at the residence of Sister Marie Hall. After the regular busincs meeting an ice course was served. Everybody re- ported a lovely time. Saturday night an entertainment was given by the Sunday School and B. V. P. U. Sunday morning at the usual hour S. S. was called to order by the Assistant Supt. 'Deacon Epps reviewed the lesson Sunday evening at the usual hour, the B. Y. P. U. was presided over by President Sim Taylor. A program was rendered by Sister Maggie Epps which was enjoyed by all. The lecture given by Sister Mariah MoVey was very interesting. Sister Lucy Hall made a trip to Angleton to visit relatives. The Western District Association convenes with the St. John Baptist Church, Corpus Christi....
