Alexandra Bowling Club Twenty five local bowlers jour neyed to Warburton on the 5th to enjoy the excellent hospitality off ered by the home club. Warbur- I ton claimed victory in the match, C and trophies given by Warburton for our most successful rink were Kwon by Bob Dickson, Col Hollow, Fred Stillman and Ray Wynne. Warburton's president, Mr. Trevor Proctor, Iwelcomed the visiting bowlers, and in reply, Mr. Bill Marray passed comment on the friendships which have been made in the numerous meetings of the clubs. In perfect weather, Alexandra entertained 32 members of the Brunswick Bowling Club on Sun day last. As is usual in the meet ing with the "ndopled" city club the scores would not make good reading for the locals. Alexandra Croquet Club At the Invitation of ]uroa Cro quet Club, the local club visited there on Thursday of last week. On arrival, a delicious mid-day luncheon was served at the club house, after which matches were arranged for the afternoon. The Alexandra team was In great form, and was defeated In one match (winning five out of the six matches played. The hononrs of the day went to Mesdames Wyune and Chapman, whose partnership scored the high est points. They were awardeda trophy by the hostesses. Euroa has promised to return the visit during March.

Alexandra School. Mothers . tClub Activities for 1949 During the year the Mothers' Club held a fair, and a profit of £26 was made. This amount was spent on providing 6 pairs of scissors, pencil sharpeners, sub scriptions to Pictorial Education, song books for the infant room, pictures and vases for grade 3 room, electric iron, cotton and needles for the sewing room, an electric clock, also £7 16s towards telephone account, and £1 Os 8d towards the Projector. With the help of donations cocoa was sup plied to the younger cnildren at the school during the winter months, £30 was spent on equip ment for the sick bay, and the Red Cross cabinet restocked. It was intended to hold a fancy dress ball in Sept., but owing to the polio epidemic this had to be cancelled for the time being. WEDDING. JEFFREY--ROBB Brother of the bridegroom, Father Peter Robb, celebrated Nuptial Mass at St. Mary's, Alexandra, on 16th     January, to solemeninze the mar marrage of Alice Susan, fourth daughter of Mr.s Susan and the late Mr. Syd Jeffrey, of Molesworth, and Norman Alexander, third son of Mr. and Mrs. N. J. Robb, of Yea. The bride, who was given away by her eldest brother, Mr. Jack Jef frey, made a charming figure in white satin over white lace, with long tulle veil. Her bridesmaid, Miss   M. Robb, and matron of honor, Mrs. Osborne (sister of the bride) frocked alike in blue taffetta over a   dress of tulle. Best man was Mr. Basil Jeffery, and groomsman Mr Kevin Robb. After the ceremony, a reception was held at Kia Ora guest house, Alexandra, after which the happy couple left for their honeymoon at The Grampians.
