Last week the intelligence was flashed across from New Zealand that William Bell, a well-known Dunedin cyclist, had ridden 50 miles on the road in 2h. 8m. 49s., thus reducing the Australian road record by 12 minutes. But this record was not allowed to stand long, as Murray Aunger, the holder of the Three and Five Miles S.A. Championships, made a successful onslaught on Bell's record on Easter Saturday, the S.A. crack reducing the a Australasian load record to 2h. 6m. b Aunger, who thus secures the first record to the credit of the new '90 P Multiflex Dunlop tyres in Australia, a was well paced by two triplets and several tandems. Tevlin left Healesville during the early part of the week for a trip to Sydney. Mr. Chandler and Mr. Tevlin have, by reason of the failing health to which they. have lately been subjected, deemed it expedient to seek the healthful in fluence eof the bracing clime of the mother colony.
