BENALLA POLICE COURT.. Saturday, February 19. (Before Messrs Heath, McBean and Sharpe.) Christian Nilleg, a German; was charged with arson, in having wilfully and maliciously burnt two stacks of wheat, two stacks of oats, one stack of hay, and some farm premises belonging to James Taylor at Broken Creek, on the 12th Feb. ruary inst. James Taylor, farmer, of Broken Creek, sworn -I remember Saturday, the 12th February inst. I had some stacks made about 150 yards from my dwellinghouse enclosod by a three rail fence. Saw the stacks between 8 and 9 that evening, when they were all right. Went into the house, and the family were in bed, but there was a light burning. I then went to bed, and blew out the light, when I heard my dos bark. The dogs were on the chain. I then opened the door and, saw a blaze going up between the three stacks, between which there was only room for a man to pass. I ran to the fire, but saw no one.
