He was there employed at the forge, along with another young man in similar circumstances. The commandant at Mloreton Bay at that period was Captain Logan, of the 57th regiment, who, being very zealous in the canuse of geograptieal discovery,fand accustomed to take long solitary excursions into die wild bush, was at length unfortunately murdered by the black natives, probably in revenge for some act of aggression committed upon themselves by one or othlier of the convicts under his charge. CHURCH OF ENGLAND (From the Guodin.) Three more clergy we;re to sail from England in June, and this mail will probably bring news of their now being on their way. The Bishop of Brisbane intends to visit Ipswich, and to be present at a church meeting in that town on the 22nd inst. (August). The object of the meeting is to raise funds for the liquidation of the debt still remaining on the Church, which amounts to £2100. The first meeting of the Diocesan Committee of the Church Society, bPs been advertised for the 4th September, and parishes desirous of obtaining aid for church building purposes have been invited to make application to the Secretary. The Rev. J. Tomlinson, B.A., is expected shortly to return from Dalby, where for thelast three months he has been filling the place of the Rev. G. We transmitted these orders to our Bremen friends, informing the latter at the same time that our Mr. Heussler would shortly depart for Europe to arrange himself all necessary particulars with them regarding passage, &c.
