REMINISCENCES OF QUEENSLAND. [Newspaper Article] — Warragul Guardian and Buln Buln and Narracan Shire Advocate — 26 August 1880

REMINISCENCES OF QUEENS LA ND. BY A QUEENSLA.ND DIGGER. A person signing himself " J. W." has, in the pages of the Australasian, been giving a description of the Queensland coast, and of the various towns situate upon it, togethcr with some account of the people who reside there, and their habits, manners and modes. As I have travelled that route no less than eight times, and, owing to transhipment, have sojourned in most of the places he treats of for pe riods of time varying from three days to three weeks, I have had ample op portunity of learning something of the subject under review. I cannot but bear testimony to the singular fi delity of his description of what came before his own vision ; and I am sure no one regrets more than I do the fact that he was not able to visit Rock hampton and Townsville, for I have s5o many pleasant memories in connec tion with those two towns, and as he writes in such a: pleasant, gossiping sort of way. it would have been like renewing old acquain...
